Don’t Shy Away from Shiloh

The last time we walked at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park was before we started the blog (celebrating our 6th year soon). It’s a bit too hilly for us and dogs are only allowed in the picnic area.

But that was just what we needed in Windsor on a gorgeous day and this picnic area had just been redone. We had a lovely view of vineyards and mountains across the valley.

If we were so inclined we could play bocce or toss horseshoes.

I was happy to imagine these now “ornament-laden” buckeyes in early summer with huge white blossoms

And enjoy the view.

If we had a large group we could have made a reservation for a spot under the arbor.

Oh yeah there are eight miles of trails in this 860 acre park. The park is mostly an oak woodland. Trails loop around so those of you who are true hikers, you can get in more miles. With the elevation, the views are probably better. I think more trails are being planned. Trails that used to be ranch roads are good for horses and their riders.

Dogs okay in picnic area but not on the trails.
